Module 1: DJ Culture, History, Genre Evolution & Music Literacy

  • Explore the origins of disco, hip-hop, house, techno, trance and electronic dance music.
  • Build genre awareness across electronic, hip-hop, R&B, pop, Bollywood, Punjabi and open-format music.

Module 2: DJ Technology Evolution, Equipment & Booth Foundations

  • Understand the evolution from vinyl and turntables to CDs, USB media and digital DJ systems.
  • Explore landmark equipment such as the Pioneer CDJ-100S, Denon DN-2500F, CDJ-2000, CDJ-3000 and the evolution of DJ mixers.
  • Learn the role of CDJs, mixers, headphones, monitors, turntables and controllers.

Module 3: Music Research, Sourcing & Release Formats

Module 4: Rhythm, Time Signatures, Track Structure, Phrasing & Manual Beatmatching

  • Identify track sections such as intros, verses, choruses, build-ups, breakdowns, drops and outros.

  • Apply different mixing approaches for house, techno, hip-hop, pop, Bollywood, Punjabi and open-format sets.

Module 6: Rekordbox, Traktor, Serato & Library Preparation

Focus:

  • Learn the main workflows of Rekordbox, Traktor and Serato.
  • Analyse music for BPM, beatgrids, waveform data and key information.
  • Understand software key formats, including musical key, Camelot notation and Open Key.
  • Learn how to check and correct inaccurate BPM, beatgrid and key analysis.
  • Create playlists, crates, tags and intelligent music organisation systems.
  • Set cue points, hot cues, loops and memory points for performance.
  • Prepare USBs and music libraries for CDJ performance.

Module 7: Turntables, Vinyl, DVS & Phase

Focus:

  • Understand turntable setup, vinyl handling and turntable maintenance.
  • Learn cueing, pitch control and beatmatching on vinyl.
  • Explore DVS systems using Serato and Traktor.
  • Understand timecode vinyl, audio interfaces and digital-vinyl workflow.
