Start using the demo versions of the DAW provided by tool’s such as Ableton Live and Logic Pro, this way you won’t have an initial investment until you partially understand which one you are more comfortable with.
Don’t let yourself get too distracted by the 1 million plus list of plug-ins, stick to the basic synths like Sylenth or Serum, or simply use the VST’s provided by your DAW. You can move on to more complex plug-ins once you understand the basics.
